Back again because I can't finish a simple novel in 30 days

Well it's been a while since I updated this. In fairness I have had two extra members of the family to deal with in the last 17 months and life has been somewhat chaotic.

So why am I starting this again? Becuase I need to write something on a regular basis. I had signed up for this year's National Novel Writing Month where the aim is to complete a novel in November. A novel in this case is defined as 50,000 words and the idea is to write like mad, edit nothing and hopefully end up with something that can be polished later. Unfortunately I lagged further and further behind the point I should be reaching every day and am still short of 20,000 words.

I do, however, have a decent basis for a novel and hope to continue it, even if it's only half an hour a day.

One thing I realised though is that when you are focused on something like that a whole lot of other ideas invade your mind and it can be difficult to exorcise them. Hence the return to this blog. This will contain all the random crap ... I mean insightful thoughts ... that occur when I'm supposed to be considering plot and character.
