Bit of a rant today I'm afraid ...
Last night we got a parking ticket !!!
Not because we'd parked somewhere illegal or not paid (actually we have an environmental car which means we get free resident parking in Stockholm, and no city tolls) but because we forgot that parking is disallowed one night a week from midnight until 6am for road cleaning.
Do they clean the roads? Not in summer!
At 450 SEK a throw (between 35 and 40 pounds depending on the rate) they must be making a fortune off this from people who forget the restrictions every couple of months.
But then this is all run by a company with quotas for the number of tickets they have to issue every year. Good job they don't run the speed camera system in the UK - it would be even worse than it is.
